FR3 Air conditioner

Hello Everyone,
We bought our 2016 FR3 (30ft) a few months ago and have been having problems with our moto rhome not really cooling very well. We previously owned a 26' travel trailer which had a nice big dinette/sofa slide out. We had no problems with the air keeping it very comfortable, even in 90+ degree temperatures. We are so disappointed with the AC in our FR3 but love everything else about it. We even close the sliding door to block off the bathroom and bedroom, and also close the vents in the bedroom. We recently had all the windows tinted and put vent pillows in all of the roof vents to block the heat....and that didn't help at all. Anyone else having this problem?

Hello Linee
We bought a 2015 fr3 this year and also love ours, unfortunately in most single ac unit rv's in 90+ weather cooling it down takes some work.
Our fr3s have a tall ceiling and with slides out its a large area to cool versus a same size travel trailer.
We recently used ours through humid s/e 90 degree weather and to new Mexico heat and had no problems staying cool.

Couple things we do first; if your driving to a location to camp we make sure to run the Generator and start the roof ac while driving 45 - 60 minutes before arrival (if you don't already have it on while driving).
Second; which I feel is the most important is fans. The area in the rv is huge and air flow from most roof ac's is not forceful enough to circulate large volumes of air.
We put a little 10 inch Vornado fan in the bedroom, between the two wardrobe closet on the counter.
We use a 37 inch oscillating tower fan placed on the floor just below the thermostat which moves the air beautifully throughout. The fan is quiet and actually allows the ac to cycle on and off less than when we didn't have it.
Hopefully this helps
Enjoy that new rig.
