georgia newbie

Hi all....my wife and i just purchased our first tt...a microlite ds25. We searched for abt a year and the ds checked most of our boxes. I am semi retired and ruth will work another year or two...but we plan to use the tt on a regular schedule.

I have been a tent camper and motorcycle tourer for most of my life but just found that i just was not enjoying it as much as i used to....guess at 63 my comfort level ain't what it once was!

We plan a few shake down cruises this coming season then out to albuquerque to the balloon fest in oct....anybody ever been.

My tv will be a 2006 tundra with the 4.7 litre with tt weight of 4100 dry and gvw of 5400 and i will welcome input as to what to expect from this combo...having equilizer load and sway installed.

Just a word abt the dealer....i spoke with several dlrs and finally purchased from peco campers in stone mtn ga...tj was our rep. Peco is celebrating their 50 yr aaniv this yr and they made the purchase (cash) painless...delivey in march.

All for now...bo and ruth

Hi, boingram.

We were in Albuquerque for the final 3 days of the Balloon Fiesta this year with a group of 18 F.R.O.G.s.

Over 550 balloons were there this year. It is a SPECTACULAR sight to see the morning mass assent, and nearly as spectacular when you see them all lit up during the evening glow.

You'll absolutely love it.

I'm sure others with more experience and knowledge will better be able to offer feedback but I also tow with a Tundra and just love it. If I remember correctly my TT dry weight is in the 3400 range & the GVWR is around 7200. I camp solo so my tt is still on the lighter end but wanted the extra cushion just in case. I know my Tundra has the smaller V8 engine too. Between the HD bars and anti-sway bar I haven't had any problems.

Good luck!

Welcome and congrats on the new TT. Come on down to Fla. to some of the state parks. We have camped several times in Blythe Island Regional Park in Brunswick. Highly recommend it. Full hook up and WIFI. Hiking trails and nice people.

What state parks are on the gulf side and near the ocean? I used to live in DeLand Fla.. That was before owning my RV. Moved up North to NY for work. Retired now and can't wait to get back to Fla.. Thanks in advance for your help.
