Grand Canyon

Planning a trip to the south rim for Christmas. Wondering is anyone have any suggestions on things to do and how long is too long. I have twin two and half old girls. Is this a safe place to go with young girls.

About ten minutes should be enough. Keep a rope around them so the don't fall off.

We did it in the summer. Stayed in Williams on I-40 and took the train to the canyon. Great RV park right next to the vintage train. During the winter it becomes the "Polar Express" and is great for kids.

In May of 2012 my wife and I stayed 6 days. We stayed in the park. I never got tired of looking at the canyon. That amount of time is probably too much for you kids. Also putting little ones on a leash is not a bad idea. The Grand Canyon is not Disney Land. Adults fall off into the canyon every year. ...and it is a long way down.

Where will you be camping?
If you are staying in the Grand Canyon RV Park in Williams which is a great location you must take your girls on the Polar Express to see Santa. It is a 1 hour trip that your girls will not forget.
Here is the deatils on the Polar Express Railroad trip.
The Polar Express, Grand Canyon | Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel, Arizona

also
Here is the link to the Grand Canyon Railroad RV Park.

This is a very nice campground. You also have a great resterant in walking distance as well as the train station for the Polar Express.

If you want a great day trip you can take the train to the south rim. Here is the cheapest coach prices and your don't nee dto waist your money on the parlor cars or 1st class because the all have great seats and heated cars.
Coach Class - Adults: $75.00 | Children: $45.00

Have a great time but dress warm. Expect snow

If you have any questions just ask away as I only live about 100 miles south if Williams AZ
