Greetings from South Georgia

We just purchased a new to us a 2013 Forest River Sunseeker 3170ds. Unfortunately, we have found water damage and a leak that was not detected at purchase or disclosed to us. There is soft floor behind the drivers seat and a leak at the back of this slide. The seals do not seem to be correctly installed and the slide is shifted too far front. The seals at the front are extremely tight and in the back they are so lose you can put your hand in them. Upon further investigation, we have determined there are new welds and some new bolts under the sofa. On the outside, you can see that they have taken the outside trim pieces off of the body portion of the slide and repainted or replaced. The portions that continue the decal areas have been painted. Stupid yes, I guess we should have noticed. It is really obvious now, but not when we purchased it. Camping World refuses to take it back or offer a trade resolution. We purchased it less than 60 days ago. It is currently in their shop and we shall see. Another RV repairman looked at for us and quoted us $10,000 to fix it. I really do not feel this fair since they claimed to us they don't sell anything with a water leak or water damage. The salesperson told us those all go to wholsale. Any advice you can give? Anyone else had the same problem? What was the resolution?

Welcome to the forum from another Georgian. Sorry to hear about your issues. Sorry to say Camping World are not the best of folks to deal with.

I really do not feel this fair since they claimed to us they don't sell anything with a water leak or water damage. The salesperson told us those all go to wholsale.

Who told you this and is it a written policy. If so then you could take them to task. Are they going to fix everything or are you getting the run around. Later RJD

Not sure it is written just from the "trustworthy" salesman!

They will tell you anything! Hubby just messaged and said it will be an $8,000 repair and they will cover $6,000. Probably a $2,000 repair that we will be covering 100%. Not sure but don't feel as though we should pay anything!

I would not pay them anything. They sold you a camper that they knew had problems and snuck by ya. You maybe cheaper to pay but I think I would bring legal action. Later RJD
