Greetings from TN - 2014 FR Wildwood 30 FKBS
Just bought my first RV and plan on parking it near the TN River. It is a Forest River 2014 30 FKBS. Sadly, it did not come with the paperwork, so I have no owner's manual. If anyone has one for sale that would be great, or if you are familiar with this unit any help appreciated.

Unfortunately, they don't come with an owners manual. They do come with instruction manuals for individual components like refrigerators, furnace, stove, etc. You can download most manuals from the manufacturer's websites with the make/model/serial # of the components.

I have looked at a few lately, and a 2020 had a plastic folder stuffed with information. Did they not do this in 2014? Thanks

A generic owners manual is the RV Industry standard. No model-specific nor brand-specific information. Just basic RV systems information.
You can download the current TT manual from FR's website. It will be virtually the same as the 2014 version.
The plastic folder you saw had the individual manuals for most of the important components, like fridge, furnace, a/c, stove, converter, toilet, and so on.

Our 2016 purchased used, came with little to no paperwork or manuals. Using the VIN on the TT, I contacted Forest River and they were kind enough to send me some generic information.
For specific information, I got the brand, model, and serial number of each item. Air conditioner, furnace, stove, microwave, toilet, converter power panel, etc. Then followed with a Google search for each one. I found the manual desired online and printed the same. All are now in a nice 3-ring binder that is always on the trailer.
Best of all, other than my time, it was free.

OK, I am spoiled I guess. When I buy a car I can download a window sticker that shows every option and upgrade. I have looked at specs for this camper, and there are many variations on water tank size, etc. etc. etc. I notice on new ones they have an option list. This is what I was after. The FKBS I believe only shows the floorplan.

That comparison(Auto Industry vs RV Industry)is a common mistake by newbies.
The only things that they have in common are, they both sell things on wheels at dealerships. Other than that, they couldn't be more different.
Expecting the RV Industry to be the same as the Auto Industry, is a guarantee for disappointment.

I actually just sent them the vin and hope they respond. I saw they just laid off 86 people. Not a good sign.

Oh, just the market. Manufacturing expands and shrinks with the economy or some such related topic. Some are seasonal workers. Our manufacturing staff varied between 400 and 500 depending on what and the size of orders. We used a lot of temp and contract labor to augment the regular staff.

Part of the problem is that you are buying a used unit. Any paperwork was probably discarded by the previous owner.
Most new rigs come with a folder with manufacturers' manuals and a 'spec sheet' listing the components, serial numbers, and manufacturer information.
Whether you actually get the paperwork is dependent on your dealer giving you the packet. We've been lucky. We bought a 2010 (some other manufacturer) trailer and the current 2015 Dynamax Rev. Perhaps because they were both new, they had the spec sheet and manuals.

Welcome from Virginia !!!
We bought a 2013 Puma and a 2017 Wildwood new from different dealers and did not get a spec sheet nor a list of appliance serial numbers. We did get a generic owners manual for the trailers and a pile of specific appliance manuals (most not all were appliances on the trailers).
You tube has many good videos.

Our 2011 came with two factory owners manuals, very generic instructions, alarm manuals, entertainment system manuals (invaluable when tv turns on in night and alarms only sound off after dark). I then added 18 more for the specific items that are an invaluable addition in an older travel trailer. Some updates added more
with hitch and such. F.R. corporate was a disappointment at time.

It is a Forest River Wildwood. Love the floorplan. Just a bed in the rear. No bunks. I wanted room. Recliner is getting tossed and a chest freezer put there. Just wish it had twin air. Last owner said that one vent in the bedroom isn't enough, but maybe adding a fan will help. Pretty happy overall with it. Paid a bit much, but he had a ton of accessories, and it was in really good condition. I actually looked at a 202o Palomino Destination, but it was literally falling apart inside. Drawers messed up, mainly because they use MDF. Furniture falling apart too. I believe this 2014 is actually built better. May have to replace the AC because they lived in it for a year. So more use, but less going down the road stuff. Trade off.

He gave me a quick indoctrination, and this thing has a remote for everything. Leveling jacks, awning, stereo, etc. My favorite part is the dressor in the bedroom, big enough for a 75" TV to stand up. Not easy to find exactly what you are looing for in an older one, but hit a home run on this one. Only has a 6 gallon hot water tank though. Is it hard to upgrade?

Don't replace the air conditioner until you need to. One year isn't much time on a unit.
As far as the water heater, 6 gallons is standard and you probably don't have room to add a larger one. Some people install 'on demand' water heaters and people say they work well with a shower miser. Of course, you've got to have a way to store all that grey water unless you've got sewer hookups.
It sounds like you got a great deal.

Right now it will be parked on the TN river. Not traveling with it. All utitlites taken care of, electric and water, and it has sewer too. Just have to fend for internet. Probaly a Verison jetpack, so I can lean on you guys. Have already watched hours of You Tube stuff on maintenance. Take care.

Welcome to Forest River Forums!
What no manual??????
All Forest River RV's have online manual's: Here is a link to I think your RV on the forest river website. PAN down to the bottom of the page in BLACK are on your left you should find OWNERS MANUAELS select your year as they should go back that far. If I'm wrong let me know and I help you search further as you do have a "30 FKBS Salem" correct? You can also in this forum go to main MENU and pan down to you RV type and learn from others who have your same RV model type. Were all here to help just ask.

Very nice of you, but the previous owner found it online and printed it out for me. It's a Wildwood. Just got it home. Got to get it loaded and ready. He never treated the seals or lubed the slides so doing that tomorrow.
