Greetings from Virginia!

Howdy y'all from Tidewater Virginia!

Bill and Diane here, in Norfolk. Retired from the Navy in 1998 after 23 years and am looking forward to taking some time to travel and see the country. Although not new to RV'ing, we are brand new to Forest River as we just ordered a 2012 Puma Unleashed 5er Toy Hauler. Making the move from a Flair class A to a 5er, hopefully, won't be too much of a strain. I know we sure are looking forward to it!

I'm sure I'll be lurking and asking a bunch of questions as the time for delivery and shakedown gets closer, so THANKS in advance for all the help and sage advice I'm sure will flow!

Looking forward to some entertaining and enlightening chats!

Welcome from Newport News! We're not retired yet, so we're planning some local trips with our TT. Going to Williamsburg at the end of the month. Keep us posted on your travels! While I realize that I am very lucky to have a job, I can't help dreaming of the day I can get on the road with no worries of returning to work. Congratulations on your new 5er! Be safe!

Wow! Thanks to all for the welcome. Looks like VA is Forest River turf!

Sherri ..... Newport News Park is our favorite quick getaway! Only have to put up with that bloody HRBT traffic and Jefferson, then we're there! Still working here as well. Very thankful but looking forward to our weekends away. So much to see and do here. Perhaps we can all meet up one weekend.

Cheers all!

Newport News park is a favorite of ours too! Let me know when you're planning to be there and hopefully we'll be able to make it.

Welcome, Looks like I'm the only one in southside Virginia. If you want to take a little trip come down to the Clarksville area. We are on the buggs island lake, or as it is called John Kerr Dam. Highway#58 will bring you here. We have about 4 COE campgrounds and if you stop and get a golden pass which is free you pay half price, not bad for $10.00 a nite with full hookups on the water, also we have a State Park, but that's 35.00 per nite. ( get the pass at the Dam office or call and get the requirements.

We've been to North Bend, in fact, that was our first trip ever with an RV(pop up at the time), and we've been to Occoneechee too when we tent camped. Haven't been down that way in a while though and was not aware of the golden pass. Sounds like a good deal, but when you say full hookups, those COE parks don't have sewer hookups, right? Just water and electric?

"Welcome" from a native of Southwest Virginia now being held prisoner of war in Tennessee. We do a lot of camping in VA, especially in state parks and you are correct. We see many Forest River units.

Yes, when I say full hook-up's I 'm only talking waster and electric, the COE only have dump stations at their parks. You can now Resv. on line. Try Rudds Creek, or Longwood cg's
