Heard it before I am sure

Getting ready to take the plunge, and have been looking at a variety of different options. I have found FR to have a pretty good reputation, and we are interested in knowing what owners feel about their experience.

Right now we are really considering a FR Flagstaff series in our efforts to get ready . Wife and I both like the FLT 27 RLWS for price and layout.

If you would indulge us, and give us some feed back, we would be thankful.
I am military retired, and getting to hang up the second career, and wife is still in the NG.

I have never posted before, but DH and I have had a Flagstaff V-Lite for nearly 4 years. It has been fantastic. Aside from a refrigerator issue and a Genesis dvd/entertainment component issue within the first year, we have had no problems. As parents of 4 kids, we needed a TT with bunks. In addition, DH is 6'7", so we needed a trailer with room for his legs to "dangle" over the end of the bed. We chose the model we chose because of the slide in the master to give him room. We have had no problems with our Flagstaff at all. I can't speak for the model you're looking at, but we have been happy with what we got.

You will find a lot of RV bashing on this forum, as many folks join when they have some kind of problem. Many new RV's seem to have a number of minor issues that need fixing. Most of us fix them ourselves. Getting warranty work done is usually a hassle.

The only real issue I had on my Rockwood Roo 19 was lousy water heater bypass valves. I replaced 2 of the 3 in 3 yrs.

The only real issue I've had on my Rockwood Mini Lite is they left out a few screws for the support for my Murphy bed. Found it right away and dealer fixed it before I left.

Thanks to both. I am a worry wart, and not, NOT the most adept at fixing stuff. I learn quick though, and Mouse my wife can figure out anything, yeah! I know that's sad, but she's always been the tom boy, her dad would be proud.
I have found that not everything is going to be perfect. Got that. Heck, moving anything on wheels and over some of the roads across the country, stuff happens. Spend time on two wheels for any period of time, you learn that.
Trying to work into a budget and need, vs, want and neat. Like our comforts and want to spend time with the grandkids and our daughters. Would love a toy hauler, but not for sure on that. We like our living space, and comfort. Lots to choose from, but wanting the best for a few years on the road. Eagle

I'm on my third Rockwood and am pretty happy. I just came back from a shakedown trip on our new one, which happens to be the sister model to the one you're looking at. Other than it looking like they over tightened and stripped out the screws to the top hinge on the medicine cabinet, no real issues.

I did find that, for some reason, I liked the Rockwood interiors over the Flagstaff. The model is 2703WS if you want to take a look at those as well.

I had no problems of size with my FR TT. Just minor stuff I did on my own. What was most irritating was the sawdust and insulation dropping for 2 years until we sold it. With nearly 4000 miles and 65 nights no problems with the SOB in my signature either. No sawdust or insulation either, not ever. A plus with the SOB is the build is cleaner, have not found trash or junk anywhere. The reason we left FR is we wanted a 5er and could not find a floor plan that fit just 2 of us the way we wanted until this one.
Many are only on here to complain, many others for info or help with a project. Every builder has problems and they all use the same appliances and systems. When ready of my next unit FR will again be considered along with the builder of my SOB.

Be sure to look at the Flagstaff's twin, Rockwood.
There's a Rockwood twin of the 27RLWS.
And Rockwoods tend have more competitive pricing since there are way more Rockwood dealers than Flagstaff dealers.

Get some quotes from RVW and RVDirect and use them for dealing with local dealers.

We have had good luck with our Flagstaff. It has been from Maine to California and we are in Oregon right now. We are 1100 miles into a 4000 mile trip and have traveled 23,500 miles with the trailer now. We bought it in 2010.
