Hello

Total Newbie. Bought what we could afford and wanted to spend to start out. 1997 Salem travel trailer 28ft. Cant find anything online. Doing some reno to fit our family better. Any ideas how to get an owners manual? What will we need to tow it. Know not to skimp on the truck! Thank you and looking forward to a new life of adventures

Hi and Welcome to FRF!
Posting the model number is more helpful than the length.
Currently there is only a generic owners manual with no model-specific nor brand-specific information. All it will have is basic RV systems information.
I doubt anyone here, would have the owners manual for a nearly 25 year old trailer.
Without knowing the model number or the weight numbers, it's hard to recommend a tow vehicle. Unless it's a 1 ton truck, you'll probably need a weight distribution hitch and definitely a brake controller.

I don't know the model. It's not on the camper, title, I tried to search the VIN. I haven't even been able to find the same one in a picture! Where should I be looking for it?

There's no outside decal by the door? Without the model number, there's not much you can do. You can go to NADA and try to find the model number.

You could start with the NADA guide. That will give you a ballpark number for the weight of the trailer.... https://www.nadaguides.com/RVs/1997/...y-Forest-River
Unfortunately, you're not going to find a manual. They don't make a manual for the entire rig. You can find owners manuals for the components... refrigerator, water heater, furnace, etc. if you find the make and model number on the appliance.
Good luck. Sounds like a fun project.
