Hello

Hello All, signing onto this forum for the first time. Having recently purchased an Apex Nano 194BHS I am hoping that I can get some hints on making repairs that seem to be a constant need with this unit. Even more, I am hoping that I can get a "heads up" on what other problems to expect as time goes on. So far the problems have not been serious. Hinges and latches pulling out of the cabinetry, a radio that is lucky to be able to tune in a station, outlet plates falling off the outlets, storage compartment locks that are so stiff that I bent a key trying to get it open (new key has been on order now for 2 months), window blind hardware pulling out of the wall, etc. All this after 3 months of ownership, 186 miles and 3 nights of use.

Welcome to the forum!

Seriously? Two months for a key? Last I heard the keys for compartment locks were standard CH751 key available online or at a dealer. There is one other one used, but I can't remember the number. One of the first things you learn is that almost any camper will have access to your storage compartments. Two keys sell for around $5 on Amazon.

When we got our rig, the first thing we did was equip it with a screwdriver and a tube of glue. That was 7 years ago before the lockdown, so the construction hasn't improved.

Welcome from Virginia !!!!!

When opening a storage compartment try pushing in on the door near the lock while you turn the key.

The issue with the key is that it is this fancy key with an LED in it and one key does every outside lock. Two new fails are 2 outlet plates fell off and the anchors for the window blind anchors are pulling out of the wall. I was looking forward to customize it but at this point it's just a matter of keeping it together

We almost all go through this with any new RV. My last 5 RVs were bought new and for the first year nearly every trip was spent adjusting, fixing, and replacing. Had a few repairs I had to take to an RV service shop (never a dealer for warranty work I couldn't do myself. There were times when I just wanted to burn the damn thing down
And in every RV, after about the first year, they have been virtually trouble free other than normal maintenance items.
Good luck, hang in there, and happy RVing!!!

You have a spare, I hope. Otherwise you've got a problem.
In any case, a locksmith might be able to cut you another key til you get the fancy one

We have that key as well, except for some reason the outdoor kitchen and shower use a different key. I bent a key trying to use the universal key on the kitchen.
