Hello All!

Greetings from snowy Western NY! We are a family of 4 with 2 dogs. We love camping in the 6-8 months that NY allows us to. We particularly like the Finger Lakes and the Adirondack Mountains. We have be RVing for 5 years and have had a hybrid, small TT and now a 29' 28.7SE and love it! I am a big fan of modding my camper to fit our needs. Thanks in advance for any advice or questions that any and all might have.

Welcome!

We had spent years backing the Adirondacks in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Wonderful wilderness camping back on the fire trails.

Thanks! Letchworth is GREAT. A lot of trails! Where is a good place over by Buffalo and Erie is good for a long weekend? We are fans of state campgrounds, not KOA or resorts. We were looking into Allegany.
The Adirondacks have so many mountains to hike. Just don't go in June

Welcome from the Finger Lakes, near Ithaca. We also love the Adirondacks did a lot of canoe/backpack trips into the St Regis area when we were younger. Like to camp with electricity these days. Have fun

We used to live in Western NY many years ago and still love camping in the area when we get up in that area. Letchworth is one of our favorite areas although hiking to see the falls is a bit more challenging as we get older.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum from Texas where we have nonexistent snow, but lots of rain.

Miss it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Snow is pretty the first day, but after that... it's just cold and wet.

If you wanted to go another 45-60 minutes past Erie, Geneva State Park in Ohio is great. If you think you want to go there, make reservations yesterday! Smaller CG and fills quickly. Then south about the same distance, Pymatuning State Park. Largest CG in the PA system. Sites are usually available close to any weekend. However Covid has tightened things there as well. If you love to fish, Pymatuning is a great place. Both would make a great long weekend. Last year Covid changed are travel plans so we did two long weekends and a week at Pymatuning. Missed reservations at Geneva last year, but got them in this year for Memorial Day.

Welcome from a Southern boy in South Carolina. I’m a former member of the band of Southerners who thinks the entire state of NY is a huge city. Boy was I ever wrong! I love the Finger Lakes!!! We’d camp and sail up there every year if it weren’t a million mile drive for us. We visit my in-laws who live between Windsor and Deposit, NY every couple of years. Just not with trailer in tow.
