Hello Everyone

We are from Cole Camp, Mo and we picked up our first 5th wheel today. We traded in our 2018 Heartland Mallard M28 for a 2022 Coachmen Chaparral 336TIK. We have our maiden trip planned for 9-11 Apr at Crickett Creek just south of Branson, Mo.

Looking forward to meeting others as we are out enjoying our new camper.

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve been a member of other forums, especially for my vehicles, and have always enjoyed the info gained and given in them.

Thank you for the welcome from a northern neighbor. I was stationed at Minot, ND and made it Winnipeg a couple of times. When I drove OTR, I also made it to Toronto a few times.

Thanks for the welcome. Tailgate is definitely something to remember. I’ve got a 5’er tailgate, just need to paint it, but I could still see that being an issue if the unit isn’t high enough. We’re using the Anderson hitch so I think the unit will need to be a little higher for hook up but it’ll still take some getting used to.

Thanks for the welcome. I was in Jersey a few times as I was driving OTR. There’s some beautiful country up that way. Would love to do a fall trip up the northeast sometime.

LOL , i also had to go with the Anderson Hitch. Have a short bed Titan XD Diesel. I also from our first trip out had issue with 5'er Rock. Just got the tire chucks, and the Tire X jack, now have to pick up rear stable jacks to help with the rock. If you haven't yet take a short trip to local place an spend night or two. see then that what you need, An helps with "dam i forgot to bring this with us".

X chocks are on the list. We’ve got some stuff from our bumper pull but I’m sure there’ll be things we need/want. We’ve already started an Amazon RV list. First major purchase will be a surge protector. We have our maiden voyage scheduled for 9-11 April.

Something I did for our bumper for stabilization that was cheap to make and worked great was the 2x4 and ratchet strap idea. It wedged between the frame and ground on each side and then use the ratchet strap to join them. Eliminated the rock almost completely.
