Red face Hello from a crazy person

So as the title says I think I have finally lost it. We live in northeast Pa. My wife and I started planning to drive out to New Mexico in November. My wife was then going to fly over to Phoenix to meet our daughter. I thought it would be good to take a camper along and I could use it on my stay in NM. Planned on buying a used one but could not get wife to understand sizes, I was thinking 24' or there abouts. So I got the bright idea to go to a dealer so she could get an idea of size. Bad move! Next thing I knew she started about taking grand kids with us on weekends and we walked out with a brand new Wildwood 31qtbs. We picked it up the week after Memorial Day. Anyway we used it several times during the summer( never with the Grandkids) And really enjoyed it.

Fast forward to two weeks ago. So we are driving out to Elk County(5hrs) and she says maybe next year we should trade up to a fifth wheel. What? She says she thinks she made a mistake buying our travel trailer since we are hauling around all this bunk space and it is not really useable space since it is only the two of us. We had a great couple of days up there and were on our way home and she ask's "what are we doing Saturday?" So her reasoning is if we are going to trade up why not do it now and have what we want for our trip in November. so last week we went back to the same dealer. Long story short we worked out a good trade and picked up our Heritage Glen28RLT on Thursday. Boy is it nice. The best part is my wife can NEVER say I am the most impulsive one in the family.

This one we are keeping, at least until she gets another crazy idea. We are taking on it's maiden voyage this weekend. We then leave for our long trip the 3rd of November for the whole month. Looking forward to it. Sorry to ramble I am still shaking my head.

Welcome to the forum from mid California - Enjoy the 5er. You know you broke the cardinal rule for buying campers don't you? Always, yes always buy your second or third camper first.

Thanks everyone. Definitely true if momma's not happy, nobody is happy. A lot of truth to buying 2nd or 3rd rv first. Can't understand it until you've done it. I drive a bunch of miles during the week and had already upgraded the truck to a 2013 Dodge cummins. Only thing I would have done different was buy an 8' bed vs 6 1/2
but had no issues on the 2 hour drive home. This weekend will be more of a test.

Sigh.

When we got married I told my wife only one of us gets to be crazy at a time.
Works for us!

you are far from crazy,
2010 may leftover 2008 airstream
2010 oct. 2010 36 RE
2011 june 2011 Ridgeview 360
2012 july 2013 36 CKTS
2013 may 2013 Aviator wright flyer
all of the above were impulse buys by my wife, I won't mention the trucks I had to buy to tow above RV's but there were 3 of them, the last one we bought was right after she got fired from Florida Hospital, she thought it made sense.

Here is a picture as it sat at the dealer. Rides high in front but not as bad as it looks. Also had installed air bags but apparently I don't need them. I got it closer to level now but it is still a little higher than I would like. It is the first time I pulled a 5er so I am still figuring a few things out.

After our first trip I dropped my hitch head three inches, still need to see if it was enough.
