Hello from a newbie in Ohio

Hi, Everyone.
Just thought I would introduce myself. My wife and I just took ownership of a 2004 Surveyor 291. We bought it from a family friend who we know took excelent care of it. I just parked it at a local lake/campground. I still have to do all the hookups and adjust the location on the lot a bit. We plan on camping there this weekend if the weather here in Eastern Ohio cooperates.

Any advice for a newbie camper is welcome. Well I am not totally a newb, I camped with my family for 6-7 years but that was 30 years ago. I hope my 2 kids enjoy camping as much as I did at there age.

Till later
Chris

Welcome, What part of eastern Ohio are you in. We are in Southeastern Oh. We may have run into your family and not even known it.

I know who "wadeduck" is, but why did you adopt his name as your handle? When my daughter was little she thought "Wadeduck" was pretty cool.

Welcome to FRF!

Well the Wadeduck name came in college. Not really sure about how but we were watching some cartoons in the rec. area and one of my buddies started calling me wade. Next thing I knew all my buddies were calling me that. Fast forward a few years and trying to find a user name on Yahoo and after trying way to many, I thought why not wadeduck. I do not have problems with many others ever taking my nickname on any forums or online games. I still love Garfield and friends/ US acres.

I built a portable deck for the camper last night that I plan on taking out to the lake tonight or tomorrow. 4ft x 8ft sections that bolt together. I will start out with 2 sections making 8 x 8. Later when we get a little more settled in I will ad a few more sections. I can't believe how much there is to do to get ready to start camping. A wife who loves to shop equals many trips with a full truck.

later all.

Thanks for all the welcome comments. I got my new deck in place last night (needs some leveling). The power is on, slider out, and the camper is level.
All I need is to plug in septic and de-winterize water lines. Looks like I will be able to camp this weekend.

Thanks again for all great advice you all post on these forums. I have learned much from the wisdom found in these forums.
