Hello from Arizona

My name is Stephen. I also go by Steve. I was born and raised in Louisiana before moving to Arizona almost 25 years ago and am currently serving in the Army. I will be retiring on Halloween this year after 32 years of service. I am happily married and we have two amazing kids, a son and a daughter born 5 years apart on the same day, and a Golden Retriever. We are National Park Geeks and love to camp in or around them.

Spent several years of tent camping with just me,the wife and dogs. After the birth of our son and the frequent visits from my MIL, we decided it was time for a PUP instead of a tent. It was way easier for me to come home from work on a Friday evening and hook up to a trailer with everything pre-loaded than it was to pack the truck and set up a tent in the dark.
Our first PUP was a '96 Flagstaff. Not much bigger than the tents we had used over the years, but it was awesome for the 4 of us. It helped to increase our love for camping and the time spent together. When my daughter was born my MIL moved to AZ and we needed a bigger camper. We bought a used 2001 Coleman Utah with the slide out dinette and it fit the 5 of us and our 2 dogs comfortably. We started travelling to around AZ, CA and UT.

We just bought a new 2020 FR Rockwood Roo 183 that we pick up in 2 weeks and can't wait to start taking it out and expanding our travels to further places. My wife is a school teacher and can retire in 7 years. After that I will be old enough to start drawing from my TSP and we plan on buying a 5th wheel and become more full time travelers.

I've been reading and absorbing all the info and lessons learned that y'all are putting out and am thankful for y'all sharing it.

This is our first brand new RV, our first camper with AC, multiple appliances and everything that should work. All we ever had before was a little generator that we would plug our PUPs into to power lights and charge electronics and one that we could use the fresh water features. I look forward to gaining some knowledge of hard side RVs and being able to share my lessons learned with others.
Thank You and have a great day.
