Hello from Chickamauga, GA

My DW and I have been rv'ers for just over a year and already on our second trailer. We joined because we just purchased a Flagstaff MicroLite 25BDS and can't wait to take her on her maiden voyage.

We are mostly weekend warriors with one or two long trips during the year. We spend most of our trips either hiking, biking, or (as of this week) kayaking.

Looking forward to getting to know our trailer and this forum. God bless!

Thanks. Have a bunch of relatives in North Jersey (Teaneck, Bergenfield) Jersey is a beautiful state when you get away from the big city! I like the country.

Donít forget about the southern part of AZ.... higher altitude, somewhat change of seasons, and specifically where we live, hummingbird capital of the world!

Would you happen to know if there is any RV parking near the Lookout Mountain incline train?

RV Parks Near Lookout Mountain

There is nothing within walking distance. However, the Chattanooga metro area, while significant, is not too big that anywhere close you stay would only be a 10-15 minute car trip.

- Holiday Travel Park in East Ridge is a nice-looking park but the area is not great. Not dangerous or problematic, just not great.

- CW in East Ridge: Don't! It's a dump. Leftover from a grander time when CW was Shipp's RV. The store is great with friendly employees and the service department is good, just avoid the campground.

- Raccoon Mountain Caverns is on the outskirts of town as you head towards Nashville/Birmingham. Its just on the other side of the mountain from the Incline (St. Elmo area).

- A little farther down the road from Raccoon Mtn in GA are two parks that seem to have good reviews: Lookout Mountain/Chattanooa West KOA and Lookout Mountain Flight Park.

Everything else starts to get 20-30 minutes from downtown and St. Elmo. If you're in a MH and need Uber/Lyft, nothing is more than a few-dollar's ride from these campgrounds.

Check RV Parky and Park Advisor for more review details.

Safe travels!

Welcome from north central Florida! Our daughter lives kind of close to you in the country outside Ringgold. She put in electric for us when we visit or stop over on a trip, so we have a free spot in the area any time. Happy camping and enjoy your new TT!
