Hello from England
Hi All, We have just ordered a new 2018 Columbus 377MB. We're really looking forward to the delivery day and cannot wait to start using our new 5th wheel. Hopefully should be with us in the next couple of months.

Welcome from north central Florida, USA!
How popular are fifth wheels in England?

They are popular but they are large and some people are put off by towing them. European trucks aren't up to pulling the big stuff but up to 30' the European trucks are fine. We are siting ours each season January to November and will move it each year to a new part of the country. Our local dealer has sold a lot in the last few weeks. The main issue is that the holiday parks aren't geared up for the larger length. Generally European and U.K. Caravans are maximum 8 metres in length so most sites aren't long enough. There are however a number of parks that are accommodating 5th wheels and RV's. We're really looking forward to getting ours.

Our trailer is 30 feet long. The older parks in America don't always accommodate the longer sizes either. We also have the problem of finding sites when we want them. We had a pop-up camper back in the 1990's when we lived in Virginia and had no problem getting a site anywhere, anytime. Now, the manufacturers are selling so many, which is making it more and more difficult. Living in Florida is even worse because we have so many who come stay all winter. Even trying to find a site in a state park on the weekend is difficult. It's so frustrating.
Enjoy your new fifth wheel!

We still have our Swift Challenger 620SE which we use for short breaks away. I've found 3 sites in the areas we want to holiday in so fingers crossed we can use them on a rotation. Sounds like your having similar issues to me which I find so surprising as at least you guys are geared up for taking 5th wheels. I know there really popular, a victim of its own success perhaps? I hope you find a great spot to pitch up soon. Here's a photo of our UK spec Caravan. Vehicle we tow with is a VW Caravelle.
