Hello from Erie, PA

Hello all! Just picked up our 2011 Roo 23ss yesterday and cant be more excited. My wife and I have camped all our lives, but mainly always been tents for me. This is our first TT of any sort. We just cant wait tot take our 2 yo out camping. I've been reading the forums here for a few weeks and already learned a bunch. Cant wait for our first trip and finding out how much I dont know.

Welcome to forums and congrats on the Roo too! Do you already have plans set for your first trip yet? I would suggest keeping it simple while you learn the tricks of the trade. In time you will also develop a camping style and choices could become easier to make on what you need or not.

Thanks! We are going to a state park that is maybe 45 minutes away. We are going with my in-laws should I run into any problems or unknowns, they are long time participants in the camping realm. Although I am sure my father in law may pull up a chair to watch me back in the first time!

LOL - I have to laugh because at one campground a group of people did pull up chairs to watch me back up. I hadn't even started backing up yet so maybe it's because they haven't come across many solo female RVers.

As for backing up my dad used to say that I really sucked at it. Good thing experience comes with practice. I'm pretty good at it now provided I can see what to avoid in my mirrors. RVing solo has only one set of eyes so I do a lot of GOAL (Get Out And Look) work.

Congrats on joining the Exclusive 23SS Owner's Club!!

there were a lot of us 23SS owners here until the 233S came out and became the hottest hybrid out there.
they outnumber us by a lot now.

Terier, luckily I will generally have my wife to spot for me. Although she has run into the trash cans the last two weeks so I am questioning if she is up to the task. But I love her dearly and the Roo was her idea, so I managed to land me a good one.

Birkendan, Thanks! We love the layout and not having to use the table as a bed all the time was huge on our list of wants. We think the benefits far outweigh the negatives of a HTT.
