Hello from Houston

Hi folks,

I'm Bill. I'm trying to retire but I teach business at a college here in Houston and they keep asking me back so I'm semi-retired for now. Just bought a 2006 Forrest River Lexington 235S. Never owned anything like this so the first goal is to figure out what everything does. Next is to figure out how to get power to the backup camera that I decided I need. Then a "shake down cruise" to make sure I'm ready for a real trip (I'm thinking Big Bend). Looking forward to meeting some of you at some camp TBD. More plans than time right now.

See you around.

Bill

Hi Bill. I'm just up the road a bit from Houston, up the Eastex Freeway. Welcome. Post your questions up, and someone will be sure to get you an answer. One thing I would suggest prior to your "shake down cruise", is maybe something a little closer first. That way if you find something that needs more attention than you may be able to find at Big Bend, you will be able to take care of it. What part of Houston are you in? I work at HCC by the way, in the IT Department. Anyway, welcome again, and hope to see you down the road.

Nice to hear from you. Big Bend is not a shake down cruise. That would be the "real trip". I've been there, staying in Terlingua and if you have a problem there, you have a real problem. Heck, if you need a toothbrush they tell you to drive to Alpine. For the first trip or two, I'm thinking Galveston or something even more local. Suggestions appreciated. I practically live downtown; very close to UHD where I teach.
I really appreciate the folks here and the help they give. I don't know where I'd go for advice otherwise. See you around.
