Hello from Iowa!

Hello!! I am new here. My husband and I live in Iowa City, IA with our 2 kids, Ryan and Abby. We bought our brand new Forest River Grey Wolf travel trailer yesterday and am excited for Spring to get here so we can head out! We are not new to RVing, we have a pop up for a few years before the Grey Wolf. This is our first time with an RV so big, and honestly, I am feeling kind of over whelmed and I hope we can remember everything we need to do the first time we use it!
Anyway, I just wanted to say HI! I hope to meet others in our area as well as meet people while we are traveling!

We homeschool also, so we are hoping we can travel alot!
Cheers!

We haven't for years. We usually go to Kent Park. We used to go to the primitive camping at Lake McBride, but I don't know much about the RV camping set up there

Hi and welcome to the forums! And congrats on your new Grey Wolf too!

I bet spring feels like a long way away but it will be here before you know it. Just think about how much fun you will be having in your new trailer.

Welcome to the group! Our first trip for the 2013 season will be to the Dam Complex campground on Lake Coralville in April. Meeting a fellow FROG who lives in Michigan. Looks like a great place and it's right at halfway for the two of us to meet up.

Scales Pointe Campground in North Liberty in Coralville Lake is a nice place also. We was there in March '12 and wasn't many there, but seemed to be a really nice CG with plenty to do and see.

Welcome to the wonderful world of camping and to the forum! We too started with a pop-up trailer which we borrowed from my neighbor. We then moved to our no slide Jayco 30ft bunkhouse for the three kids. Now that they are grown, we traded up to a 38ft CC fifth wheel. it's camping natural progression, you'll see.

Welcome, Camp out a few nights at home, in the driveway or the backyard... Just a thought. I think it will help you get acquainted with the new coach. Make a list of things you need and questions you need to ask. lots of experience here on the forum.

That's not too far from us at all! We're FROG members too.

I'd love to do that, except there's no room for it at our house at all, we live in a neighborhood of houses that are super close together and Iowa City regulations won't allow us to park it on the street. Right now it's at a farm in Lone Tree in a shed for the winter.

That's sort of how it's been for us as well. We started with a tiny little popup that had no room at all (couldn't even set up the table if you wanted to get on the beds), then we bought a much larger Jayco pop-up 2 summers ago, and when we bought the Chevy Tahoe we knew we could pull something much bigger. Since hubby's a trucker, we sometimes can only camp one night locally, so we knew we wanted something much easier to set up.

Thanks for the welcome. I am really enjoying the forum so far.
