Hello from Kentucky

Hello everyone. First time camper owner here. Picked up a 2012 Rockwood mini lite 2304 a few weeks ago. I'm the third owner and it's been used very little. Only thing I had to do to it was replace the tires since they were the originals. We've not taken it out yet since all the campgrounds are closed but we're looking forward to our first trial run in the coming weeks. Hoping to learn from the veterans here.

Hello from FLORIDA, West Coast, well you should do a shakedown right there in your own back yard. In case you something that needs a little repair you can do it there with everything around you now. Once you have it open think and walkthrough all you think you will be doing like LPG, WATER, ICEBOX, BEDDING aired out, and cleaned. Trial run truly should be a backyard review so you can truly enjoy on the first trip away. Also I'm sure you did this but check the in plate inside in one of the cabinets the SN, VIN all match up with registration. Just better to be safe than find a problem.

Welcome aboard. This thread is aimed at new owners like yourself, and may help on questions that first time owners have:

Welcome!
We're just up the road in Fern Creek!
FYI campgrounds are opening.
We went to one of our favorites just 2 weeks ago.
Obannon Woods State Park Indiana.
It's an easy 60 minute drive from Bardstown Rd and the Snyder.
Just a few miles west of Corydon IN.
There are others!
Since we are retired we can go most anytime so we were there on a Sun-Wed and the place was almost empty. Good hiking and bike riding there as well as just hanging out under the trees.
Again, Welcome and just ask if you are looking for more suggestions!

We went and looked at the Taylorsville lake campground, yesterday. It didn't look too bad and it's only 2 miles from where we're currently storing our camper, so it should be good for a couple of weekend practice trips. Our boat is also stored in Taylorsville, so it will be easy to camp and boat. We like going to Green River in Campbellsville and our end game is to store our boat in Campbellsville so we only have to drag the camper down there. We've got a week vacation planned at Pikes Ridge in August so we're trying to get some experience under our belts.

Just got back from Bandy Creek campground near Oneida Tennessee last Wednesday. They are open. The park area is very nice. We stayed on a beautiful site for $12.50 per night with the federal pass. 30 amp service and water. Restrooms were wonderful.

All the trails you could ever want. Quiet during the week. Very quiet.

The switchbacks on 297 were memorable!

Not far from you.
