Hello from Maine

Good afternoon from Central Maine. I am going to be using this forum quite often as my family and I just bought our first RV. It is a 2014 Forest River Wildwood Lodge Destination 393 and already I have loads of questions but here are the first of many.

We have our RV under a permanent roof OFF GRID where it will stay. We run our generator about 4-5 hours every evening and then shut it down at bed time. My question is why my furnace runs great when generator is running but then seems to stop when generator is off? I have checked the 12V Deep Cycle battery and it is fully charged?

Any help would be tremendous.

1 battery may not be enough. Also make sure there is not a battery shut off somewhere.
Welcome to the forum from South Jersey.

Hello from Maine

Welcome from western MA formally from the Canoe City, ME. This is a great forum with lots of great people...just keep asking and posting resultes...we are carrying two deep cell batteries on board. We have a auto set so the gen. turns on if batteries get low
Happy Trails

Welcome from central NJ!

Does the blower stop immediately or does it wind down over time?

Hello from Maine.

Thank you all for the fast replies as we are headed back up to camp this weekend. In response, I have not seen and/or located any shut off switches for the battery but right now it just has a 12V EverStart deep cycle battery attached. I was planning on buying a spare battery anyway. Any suggestions for good RV deep cycle batteries?

Oh, and yes, once the Generator shuts down the blower immediately stops. This is a park model so there are appliances in it meant to be run solely off shore power like the full size refrigerator. After the batteries, my next priority is to get that refrigerator out and install a propane RV fridge somehow.

Thanks again all. Yes indeed, I will be on here reading all of your tips and comments quite frequently. This is going to be extremely helpful to all of us as I can't even find an owners manual for this, and rv dealerships I call seem to be of NO HELP at all

Welcome to the forum. Your furnace will draw a bit more dc power so when gen shuts down now you are depending on battery and will have slightly less out put. Later RJD
