Hello from NJ from a newby

Just put an order in for a Rockwood 2304DS and am being pressured into buying a 5 year warranty policy. I've never fallen for those things. Are they worth the money or a waste ($1000)? I'm a good mechanic and work on my all my possessions. Are they mostly just a money maker for the dealers? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Check to see if your camper has the available 2nd year warranty available from FR about $150 well worth it. Skip the high dollar one. Later RJD

One other thing... some of the extended warranties require annual "inspections"
@ $2-3-400 ea. be careful.

Hello and welcome from northern Arizona!! Happy Camping and good luck on warranty decsions. aceinspp had it right; the FR 2nd year warranty is a good deal and you'll find most aftermarket warranties are cheaper, and many times better, than one the dealer wants to sell you at 400% markup or more.

Hi and welcome from a fellow NJ member. I stay away from any extended warranties cause they basically are a waste of your hard earned money. I do 95 percent of my own work on rig and most major things will show themselves within first year of ownership. Of course anything can break at any time but usually you would be 1000 dollars ahead for the repair.

Go with the 2nd year from Forest River. The selling dealer is supposed to give you the paper work for it during your sale. Ask them for it. If they do not give it to you, call Forest River warranty Dept. directly.

Thanks everyone for their input on the 5 year warranty. I will inquire about the 2nd year warranty from FR from my dealer/wholesaler. I guess he neglected to mention that plan as he wanted me to purchase the $1000 plan he was pushing... Thanks again everyone.
