Hello from Norfolk, MA!

Hi All,

We have just picked up our brand new 2014 rockwood 2560g pup. Very excited about starting some great camping memories with our young family. My wife and I have tent camped a bit and my brother owned a jayco pup while his kids were growing up, which gave us the idea to start this with our kids.

We are totally new to pup camping, and have found these forums amazingly helpful. We plan on doing mostly dry camping in state parks.

I am actually driveway camping with my son right now for the first time. It's raining out and I'm noticing several leaks along the seams. Is this normal for brand new pup canvas??? Does it have to setup from the rain the first time? Do we need to seal anything or take it back to dealer?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

your dealer should have told you to wet the canvas BEFORE going out camping.
also should be something from the canvas manufacturer about "seasoning" the canvas seams.
if your dealer didn't mention it or do it for you, before you picked it up, they did you a disservice.

the threads in the seams, will swell from getting wet(seasoned)and fill the seam holes once they dry out.
if the seams continue to leak, try any tent seam sealer.
