Hello from Ouray, CO
Good evening all. Newby here from southwestern CO. I am ultimately looking to get a motorhome when I retire in 3-5 years so as to do 1-2 month trips to focus on various regions of the country (pacific northwest, desert southwest, rocky mountains, CA will get 2 trips; 1 to the north and 1 to the south, New England, etc).
But, in the interim, we have updated our plan to get a small Flagstaff Geo Pro or E-Pro; or also maybe a micro lite so that we can do 1-2 week trips. I'm guessing those trips would mostly be just to travel around our state or UT. If it looks like I have a few weeks off from work, maybe reach out farther to NV or CA or so.
I used to have a 1 ton Ram pick up. But, I traded it last August for a Toyota Tacoma and a 4 Runner so that we can go off roading in our local area that is saturated with old historic mining roads and forest service roads. Hence, we are only looking at the light trailers currently.
This upcoming purchase will be our 3rd travel trailer. We've owned a 68 Roadrunner and a 05 Fleetwood Prowler bunkhouse.
I wish all safe travels!

Ouray is a very cool town. Spent several nights there on a couple of long dirtbike rides from Gunnison. Great views, great food, great hot springs!.. Welcome from Central PA

Thank you! Yes....I really really enjoy it out here. I had met my wife in the 80s over in Boulder; she was from Grand Junction. At some point, she said "We should go down to the San Juan Mountains. I think you'll really like it". Well, like everybody else, you pull into town and it is like "wow....this is incredible....how do you make this work?" I was heading off on a career in the Army. So, it was only a 31 yr detour before we got here.

Thank you very much! How do you like your 22FBS, so far? That was one of the models that we enjoyed seeing the other day.
My only objections to it when I saw it were that it didn't seem as off road/boondockable without some additional modifications as the Geo Pros and that it does approach almost twice the weight as a Geo Pro. Otherwise, we really liked the Theater seat version that we saw. The larger open area seems to make for a much better rainy day place to be. The seats looked great. It seemed to have a lot more storage than the Geo Pro, too. All in all, we did like it a lot.

Welcome. Love your area. We were there last year and really enjoyed the people. A Tacoma is a great truck for out there. Lots of great trails too. A 1ton would be too big for many of the trails so it makes sense.
My uncle pulls a single axle SOB (lance) trailer with his Taco and loves it.

Hi there! Glad you had a great stay out here! I did in 1986 when my, then, girlfriend brought me here to show me the area. It took 30 yrs to move here hehehehe.
Oh yes....the 1ton was a no-go here. I originally got it as we were going to be getting larger camper. But, the sadness of not being able to explore the area overtook the camper endeavor. So, the 1ton got traded away.
That's ok....I really enjoy exploring the mining and forest service roads. And, a small travel trailer will meet our needs just fine while I am still employed. Plus, a small one is great for still exploring some of the backwoods areas here. After I retire, then time to get a motorhome with all of the bells and whistles that we'll use for 1-2 month trips.
Have a good one!
Alan
