Hello from PA
Thought i introduced myself back in 2021 when i joined... We're from Central PA so thought we would sign up for the Rally in July at Chenango and noticed i hadn't posted yet.... needless to say, don't get on a whole lot. Actually had a pull behind Rockwood 8335BSS back then in 21, bought an 8291CL 5th wheel this past April/May. We absolutely love it.

Welcome from NE PA! Did you ever register for the Chenango Rally? Last I saw there was only 1 spot left.

There should be a rally posted soon in Pa at Knoebels and their Lake Glory Campground, usually held in June on Father's Day weekend.

Congratulations on your New RV, and before you hit the road you may want to just do a 100-mile loop around your city to check how everything is working for you should something happen close to home. This we call a shake-down trip.
Next, you may want to find a group here in Forest River Forums, that has your same MAKE and or Model if you can and read other posts by others. This may help find an issue on your RV before a bigger problem shows up. But all sounds like you are on the Right track so enjoy the Outdoor adventures that are outside waiting for you. Welcome to Forest River Forums.
JUST CLICK on FORUMS top left in the green and pan down until you locate your RV.

Actually most seasoned RVers recommend Camp Driveway before going on your first trip.
Driving around for 100 miles doesn’t test the most important systems, like plumbing, electrical, appliances and so on.
All driving around does, is test the chassis running gear and your hitch setup.
Camp Driveway allows you to test the important system home and learn how to operate them. Then you can take care of any issues before leaving.

Welcome from nearby Ohio. I am curious what your tow vehicle was with the Rockwood 8335BSS? We are looking at a similar Rockwood but am concerned about the over length and weight. Our Ram 2500 6.4L gasser does great with about 8500 pounds and it should tow up to 12,000 pounds. But we all know SHOULD is different than comfortably can.
Thanks!

i have the 2021 Ram 2500 6.4 gasser with the 4.1 gear ratio. and the Ram Air Suspension...its rated at 16,400 lbs. Towed great... the 5th wheel tows just as nice with no wiggle in the rear... sits very even cause of the air and have no problems with hills.

You are correct there is much more to a trailer than pulling around the Neiborhood. At the point of my writing, I do like to do more than a HELLO and welcome. I enjoy details and like to share what I would call food for thought for a newbie. I had thought about the trailer and jumped into motorcoach shake-down. But you are correct a few days in the driveway HOA aside, is one of the best ways to get to know your trailer and where you may want to place a label or add a cordless drill to lower the leveling jacks etc.
Not sure why I replied, or I got off track a bit in my thoughts. Stating only Motorcoach, shake-down, as for the 100-mile loop, this should include all road types, four lanes, two land, dirt road and highways, Not just handling, turns, stop and go, and you should have your crew with you and get their thoughts and feedback, I think and always suggest a shake-down for both Trailers and motorcoaches. Many RV dealerships do offer FREE drivers one day training classes, which I strongly suggest. But the main idea here, is to get to know your vehicle before you do your first campout. I have met many new campers in the RV Parks, that had no idea how to hook up their RV or lower leveling jacks. I've seen motorhomes high off the ground with leveling jacks down and almost 2 and 1/2 feet from group to first step.
But every new RV owner should do a shake-down.

The 8335BSS is nice... i like how the bedroom is setup with a kings size bed and plenty of room... the only thing i didn't like was the narrow storage spaces in the kitchen.. beyond that it was very nice.

Thanks for the comments about your Ram gHolmes4914. I could update the axle and add the air bags. That would be cheaper than a new truck and we really like our Ram. It doesn't have 50,000 miles yet so no reason to trade. Now to get a new Rockwood....
