Greetings! We live just outside of Hershey! My son goes to Albright College so I trek to Reading often. Never heard of Lake in Wood. Will definitely look it up. There's a of family campground right in our area! And state parks too! So welcome and hope to hear more from you!

Welcome to the forum, we are near Wind Gap, PA, so just Northeast of you on the other side of Allentown. Lots of awesome people here and alot of PA members.
We try to get out as much as we can but, with two young girls (5 and 2) it's sometimes tough too.
Our girls really enjoy camping, my wife never camped at all growing up and I did all the time so I'm slowly changing her over!
Welcome again!

We go though Parkersburg all the time when we go and visit my Mom and Dad.
Where do you like to camp at?

congratulations and welcome! We have friends who live up in Downingtown and camp with all the time. There are some great places to camp inside PA and not a far drive either.
One of our favorites is Burnt Cabins, just a few miles from Cowans Gap state park which has a lake you can swim in. Burn cabins campground is not much, but its family run and they have a operating grist mill with tours every Sunday. There are always kid friendly activities going on as well.

We frequent TT Hershey a lot since it is so close. Otherwise we try and go to a different place all the time. I liked our trip to boston a few years ago. We have been to a campground in urbana, va

Very nice park. Never camped there though. My VA thought above for some reason got cut off... we like the TT in Glady VA (I think is where it is). We stay there quite a bit since it is so remote and quiet.
EDIT: chesapeak bay TT in glouchester.

A "free" membership to them came with our camper. However the annual maintenance fee was more than we normally paid for 30 days of camping and traveling. LOVE Gettysburg area and camp in the area a week just about every year (typically at the KOA); but we like the option not to.

We are staying at Drummer Boy in Gettysburg Labor Day weekend. I was told to pick a site deep in the campground since the front is so close to the highway.

Same with us got the free weekend but the they said the membership would be 14000 the wife looked at me and no way. Plus they want 500 a year for maintenance of the grounds. But it still was a good weekend out

Will have to remember that for the future will love going to Gettysburg but that membership just wasn't for us.
