Just bought a 2014 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite model 8280WS 5th wheel trailer. My wife, Linda, and I (John) went to Shipshewana, Indiana to pick it up, and drove it home to South Dakota with a few stops in between to visit our daughter and see some sights along the way.
We opted to buy a new 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the truck performed great! We wanted a truck that would get good mileage when not towing, but could handle the lightweight 5th wheel. It worked great. We got from 10-12 miles per gallon on the trip home. Difference in mileage being mostly the wind. We went about 55-60 mph the whole trip. Hey, we are retired, what's the hurry!!??
