Hello from RV in The Woods

Hello everyone. I have been a shadow watcher/observer for over a month here. I have come across so many wonderful stories, tips and information shared here. It was time to join and I hope to learn much more as I have so many questions about the New To Me 2008 FR Cardinal I recently purchased for a permanent "on my land" residence.

I have resided in a 1982 5th Wheel for 26 years and when the recent Texas Arctic blast left me w/o power for 4 days, I decided fixing all of the plumbing just was not worth it. Hence "my new to me" Big Bird.

Are there very many people here who live in their RV full time with it set up to not be moved? I have a well, septic, electricity but this lovely Cardinal is a monster compared to my current "82" 32ft which has no slides, no insulation and no any "bells/whistles".

I will be having it moved into place as soon as I (sadly), have some trees removed so it will fit into place once the old one is removed. It came with no manuals, not much info on how to do what or what button works what. Hopefully within 2 months it will be in place and hopefully all of you kind, generous people will find patience as i ask questions/seek guidance.

I feel like I was saved from drowning when I found this forum. Happy Trails and life journey's to All.

Thank You Chris. I am floundering and no friends or family have any RV knowledge to throw my way. Normally, I am not a scared person but this lovely beast with all of the electrical, holding tanks and gas options, is overwhelming. Good day to you in NJ.

Hi and Welcome to FRF.
As far as others with your lifestyle, if you go to the General Community Discussion section and click on Forest River Lifestyles, you'll see the Seasonal, Long Term and Work Camping sub-forum.
