Hello Hoffy,

I am also in Salt Lake City and we bought our new trailer late spring and have enjoyed it thus far.

What did you get and where have you been?

Hi UT_Grandpa,
Thank you for messaging us. We just purchased our first TT. We bought a Rockwood MiniLite (2306) and haven't taken it out yet. We hope to take it out in a couple of weeks to go along with the Utah Symphony on their Great American Road Tour. In the past we had a pop up and would go to the Spruces fairly regularly but just got to that age where it wasn't so much fun to "pop-up" anymore! What recommendations do you have for us?

Recommendations for Hoffy

Let's consider the following:
1. Electrical: Get a 30 Amp plug to a 20 Amp wall socket adapter, seriously consider a power protection box like a EMS-PT30X, flashlights and batteries, cheap/free Harbor Freight multimeter to test AC and battery voltage. Get a USB power splitter so you can charge more than 2 devices at a time.
2. Sewer: Get a clear plastic elbow for the dump, get a good pair of rubber gloves, a spray bottle of bleach/water for disinfectant, a 15 foot section of hose for the black tank flush, a backflow hose valve (Home Depot garden section), extra toilet chemical, a small toilet brush, a good hose with a right angle fitting to fit in the sewer dump inlet.
3. Cooking: All the stuff you need to cook and eat plus aluminum foil (line the BBQ burner top and the bottom of the BBQ for quick cleanup, ice cube trays, fridge fan to circulate air inside the fridge, a small garbage can for the kitchen and a one for the bathroom, a collapsible dish drainer, rollup cutting "boards", good knives and a sharpener, 2 quart Rubbermaid pitchers with screw on lids,
4. Miscellaneous: Alarm clock, flyswatter, Command hooks to hang towels and clothes in the bathroom, indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer, Reflectix foil insulation for the windows and inside skylight over the shower, plastic boxes with locking lids for storage in the cupboards, outside cabinets, and under the sofa, two rugs for outside and inside the front door, shelf liner for stuff that can move around in cabinets and drawers, spare fuses for the power center, RV water hose, water pressure regulator, hose "Y" adaptor with shutoff valves (used if you have to share a water hookup with another camper)

Consider a Rearview Camera for the back of the trailer. It really helps when towing to see what is behind you and what is coming up your blind side. We also bought a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for both the truck and trailer. I have blown too many tires on my boat and it is no fun.

Have fun and enjoy the tour.
