Hello from So Cal!

Hi! I’m Sue. My husband, Dave, and I are SO ready to begin the RV adventure! We are picking up our 2021 Forester Classic 3011DS on Friday. We do have camping experience, but have mostly done tent camping and only rented a motorhome once or twice. We can’t wait to get on the road and start exploring this great country of ours, one campground at a time!!

Welcome from Wisconsin. Congrats and enjoy your 2021 Forester Classic 3011DS.
X2 on doing a thorough walkthru during the PDI. There's a PDI checklist under the green Library tab above.

I feel like such a newbie...lol. What is PDI ? and I don’t see a green library tab to locate the checklist above. I’m assuming this is a checklist when we do our walkthrough and orientation on Friday. That would be so helpful!

Never mind!! I figured it out. I wasn’t seeing the full layout of the forums. I found the checklist and have printed it out. Thank you so much!!

Eastvale? Wow! Just a stone’s throw from Rancho. My parents lived in Seneca, SC for about 8 years and that’s where most of our family vacations were spent. We were able to see quite a bit of No. Carolina and Georgia, too, when we were back there and it’s so beautiful!!! Can’t wait to do some traveling back east!

As seasoned and serious bakpackers in our younger days, I can safely state setting up an RV in the rain at night is not quite the same as setting up a tent under those same conditions.
You will enjoy your adventures!
And welcome to the forum.

Oxcamper, I’m sure that is true!! My husband and I also were Cub Scout leaders for several years, so imagine throwing a bunch of rowdy boys and their families into that equation. We’ve definitely had it much more challenging!! 😂

Cub Scout Leaders?!
WOW! You deserve a medal for that hazardous duty.

That is a very nice looking rig you've gotten into.
PDI is Pre Delivery Inspection. This time is yours, don't let the dealer cut you short on time. Ask everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING!) you don't know, understand, or want clarified. Some folks even video it on their phones because you will be inundated with information, much of which may not make sense at the time or go in one ear and out the other because you're trying to take it all in.
Make sure they tell you, better yet show you, how to retract the slides and stabilizer jacks manually -- just in case -- and where are the tools to do that stored.

As it may have been mentioned, DON'T sign any papers, delivery, etc until you are satisfied with the PDI and understand it.

You're going to have a BLAST! Go out and enjoy your adventures.
