Hello from Texas - Newbie

Hello all! My wife and I purchased our first travel trailer. It is a 2019 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ. We wanted to start small and it is just the two of us.

The previous owner had done some upgrades, trying to get it all figured out.

Heres what he added:
Folding Cargo rack, Honda 2000 watt inverter generator, 6 gallon fuel tank for generator, 2 Heavy duty golf cart batteries, Trimetric Battery Monitor, Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power converter/charger, 500 watt inverter, Coleman high effecency a/c that will operate on the Honda 2000 watt generator, Folding tongue jack, 2.8 inch axle lift, Rooftop Maxxair fan, additional 5 gallon propane tank with auto switch over valve, Extend-a- shower folding shower rod, Porcelain high rise toilet with soft close lid, Wireless tire pressure monitor, 2" trailer hitch with sway bar.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Congrats and enjoy your 2019 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ. Looks like the previous owner tricked it out pretty good. If your Maxxair roof fan doesn't have a cover you might want to consider one so you can keep it open in the rain. Link:

Welcome erich02. We lived in San Antonio for 11 years before moving here (just north of Houston). I still have 2 boys and 2 grandkids there. There's lots of good camping around SA and into the Hill Country. Good to have you aboard, and hope to see you down the road.

@EdJunior - Yes really glad there are so many places in the Hill County. We have been out once to the Medina river so far. Next trip in a couple of weeks will be on the Guadalupe in Spring Branch. Then a few weeks after that we will be out in Mason on the Llano river. Would like to go east towards Houston and see whats out there one of these days (haven't spent much time east of SA other than Galveston)

Heh...we were pretty much the same way. My mom lived on Bolivar so we went there a couple of times, but otherwise did all around SA. Then we moved here, and camped all around here, and rarely get back west. We don't get out quite as much anymore. Some medical issues have slowed me down a bit, and now stupid Covid stuff, but we get out when we can.

If I might make a suggestion for a really great place to visit, head a bit west towards Uvalde, up to Concan. We stayed at Parkview Riverside RV Park, but there are other places, including Garner State Park. Even if you don't camp at Garner, visit Old Baldy, a neat little hike up a little hill. And what we thought was very cool, a trip down the road to Concan to see the Frio Bat Cave. At sunset, millions of bats fly out for supper. It is an awesome sight watching all those bats fly out. The Frio River is a beautiful river and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend there. Highly recommended.
