Hello from Wisconsin!!

Hello from Wisconsin!

First time TT owner here. We just purchased a new 2021 Grey Wolf 19SM on 1/29. Found one in stock that was decently priced with all the features we were looking for. Spent a lot of time looking at smaller TT for our family of 5.

We are excited to start camping once the weather gets warmer. Polar vortex next week so a little cold for us. Planning trips with the family has been really fun but a little frustrating because it seems that all the popular State and National parks are booked. Need to start planning our next year trips this year so we are ready when reservations open.

Welcome from another Wisconsin person. Don't give up on the 2021 camping season yet. Remember that there are boondocking areas in Wisconsin and we have a lot of private campgrounds. Send me a PM and I will tell you about a few.
I hope that your family has many years of enjoyable camping with our TT.

All the more reason to not go to the popular parks. Welcome from the U.P.!

Welcome from Minnesota. Yes, going to be cold. I am on the Honor Guard at Fort Snelling National Cemetery and not looking forward to being out there Next Tuesday.

Be sure the check out the private campground near the State and National Parks you want to visit. I have a Good Sam Membership and they have software you get to use. You can plan the trip and where ever you want to stop, you can look up near by campgrounds.

cstaalinWI,

Yup, getting SP reservations is hard not only in WI but most states. Here's a link to private campgrounds in WI. You can browse by region or city. It might get you through this summer.

A couple-few weeks ago I got a reservation for Wyalusing State Park in June. There were still a lot of sites open outside of the weekends. This is coming from a big fan of the Driftless Area.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

We have a some land up in Athelstien, WI just off the Peshtigo river. That will be our destination for most of the summer. Have a few projects up there to setup an RV pad with power. No water or septic but Governor Thompson SP is about 10 minutes away.

I was able to get a few sites booked. If anyone has recommendations for private campgrounds with big/private site please let me know.

Mauthe Lake- Trial run close to home
Council Grounds- Group site with friends
Peninsula State Park- Last spot late October.

Don't give up on the state parks. There are many people out there that book 2 weeks at a time and cancel most of them. There are also a ton of awesome private parks that are close to the state parks but you can get the perks of a private park.
