hello to all, new guy from Detroit

hello,

My name is Ben and i live just outside of detroit, michigan.
my wife and daughter both love to camp and we just upgraded from a 1984 jayco 12 foot pop up to a grand surveyor gs272 2006. My truck is a 2001 dodge ram 1500 2wd with a cap and towing package, just an all stock truck.
318 motor, 3:92 rear end. the TT is 30 foot total length and weighs 4657 dry
( i haven't weighed it myself yet to find actual weight yet ). it has 1 slide out in the middle ( dining room ). center kitchen, rear bedroom. 30 gallon tanks all around, and 2 40 lb propane tanks i believe. we mainly camp in Michigan but would in time like to broaden our horizons, but with the truck having 120,000 miles on it i kinda want to stay within a few hours of home. i do have a newly rebuilt tranny though. so far i really like this forum, everybody has been so helpful. hope to talk to you all and share some great camping stories.

Sounds like your right in our neck of the woods. Also have a GS272 which we just got. Can't wait to get out and try it out.
Welcome to FRF. Lot of good people here and plenty of good information.

Wife and i have a 2004 gr. surv. 292. was pulling it with a 2003 dodge 4.7 2 w.d. 3;55
It was not enough motor untill it goes into 2nd on the zilwalkie bridge-HA-HA.
Any ideas about a tv mount in the overhead??
If i upgrade to digital tv [ those converters dont work good ] might as well upgrade to
a 19 inch so it sits in front of the opening.
Talk to you later
