Hi from Panama City, Florida

Retired Army officer turned high school teacher here plus wife and 3 boys. We just sold our pop-up camper last month and put a down payment on a 2020 Salem 30KQBSS from Couch's RV Nation. We'll be picking it up in August.

We camp quite a bit at NASCAR races and State / National parks, usually at least three to four times a year. Cramming five of us in a pop-up was getting to be too much especially with the oldest two boys being high schoolers.

We're VERY excited to get this new camper and while I do have a lot of experience towing my pop-up I know this trailer will be completely different. I'm hoping my years of driving large box trucks and Bluebird busses will pay off at least a little. I'm comfortable driving big vehicles / trailers, I'm just concerned about sway. I did buy a 800-1200 lbs Husky Centerline TS and am considering purchasing a Hayes sway control system to augment it.

My truck is 2018 F150 supercab with the 3.5L ecobeast, 3.55 rear end, and all the towing bells and whistles. I know the trailer is heavy on the tongue but I've run the numbers and everything checks out with us and all of our standard gear included.

I've been perusing this site for a few weeks and have already found it useful.

Welcome from Dayton Ohio.

We bought at Couches rv, Hamilton. The pdi was easy. They did the check the day before. Plan on hours. No check until it checks out.

Do a good pdi. Warantee service is hard to get done, or worse.

Hope you maxed out the batteries! We did. They installed 4 six volts. Modern rv’s are hell on batteries.

Residential fridges do not overnight well on one battery.

Get a battery monitor. I bought the BM2 on Amazon.

The fun begins!

Howdy Neighbor!

Welcome. I’ve been here for a couple of months and really appreciate the wealth of information. You can find answers to most of your questions here. A lot of good stuff. I live in Parker now, but moving to the beach soon as Michael pretty much destroyed my neighborhood.
