Red face Hi from SE Iowa

We live in SE Iowa and just bought our first rv. It's a 2008 Cedar Creek. Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all there is to learn.

Welcome to the forum. Go to the Cedar Creek sub forum and ask your question there about seals. Enjoy and Later RJD

Welcome, Janet!

Yes, there's a steep learning curve to all of this. Thankfully, you have a LOT of resources: this forum (including the Cedar Creek subforum), assets online that are downloadable for the systems on your trailer, and - best of all - YouTube (you will be amazed at how much good quality stuff there is on YouTube to operate, maintain and repair your trailer).

One thing to keep in mind: there's no SINGLE "owners manual" for your trailer (like a car). Instead, your RV is an extensive collection of systems and subsystems, and - as such - there are owners MANUALS for all of those things (like your fridge, your thermostat, your furnace, your hot water heater, your air conditioner, your microwave, your stove, etc). If your RV has something unique about it, there's likely a manual for that, as well.

The nice thing is that many of these subsystems are directly shared between different lines/brands, so - as long as they are the same unit - the way your fridge works in YOUR Cedar Creek is the same as how it works in someone else's Coachman or Sabre. Similarly, how we dump our tanks is pretty similar, as well, even if how we get water into the coach might be a little different.

Take it slowly, go over it again as many times as you need, and look for resources here (like HOW TO WINTERIZE). Don't be afraid to ask questions - we're all newbies at one point, and (at least in my case), we're all trying to learn more every day.

This is a great community of a lot of folks who want to maximize enjoyment of their RV/Trailer and help increase satisfaction with their RV/Trailer lifestyle. I think you're going to do great!

You can do it!

You will get the hang of it. Here is a link to a thread that has many of the things new Rv'ers need to know.
