Hi From Southern Tennessee

Hi all,
We are earnestly looking for a fifth wheel toy hauler for our family. 1st time Rv'ers but long time wanna be's!
Just bought the truck 10 days ago...2014 Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel. Love this truck!! Now to find perfect camper.

Started out looking at Bunkhouses but quickly realized that most bunks were too short for my beautiful 12 year old twin daughter's who are already 5'7" or better...and read on message boards about getting a toy hauler instead because beds afford so much more room.

Another benefit of TH is great place for dogs, which we have a few...
So we are back and forth on used or new...trying to keep tow weight down...so looking for 32' to 38' in length, of course want beds/couch in garage part.

Considering PUMA Unleashed 359 THKS because it has two slides.
Carbon 327 is another option.
Have a lead on used 2012 Cyclone by Heartland for about $40K

Hard to find PUMA's in stock, everyone says "They are on order" with no idea when they are coming in.

We home school kids and plan to do some of this on the road, along with with some 3 days trips to local campgrounds...

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading, Cindymae

Welcome and great move on shopping for a toyhauler for your needs.
They catch our eye every time we're out and are so spacious and versatile...good luck!

Welcome to the forum. We camp in Kingsport, Tennessee fairly often to visit with family. I can't be much assistance on a toy hauler but good luck hunting.

Welcome Cindymae! Great folks on this forum. You are asking your question on the Welcome Mat forum. You might get more responses if you jump over to the Toyhauler forum and ask for perspectives there too.

Welcome to the forums from SW Idaho.
Looks like a TH will fit you well as the beds I have see will sleep taller people much better than the small dinette beds and some of the fold out couches do.

I do not know about the bunks because I did not want them so I can not help you there.

Good luck in your search.

Just bought a PUMA Unleashed 351 Toy Hauler. Pull with my 2013 Dodge Ram 2500. Love them both!

Awww..great!! How is that bathroom size in Puma, we are bit off the Unleashed b/c of small bathrooms...I haven't seen one in person yet, but from YouTube videos they look painfully small....

Well, they are kinda small. That's the only draw back to the Puma.

Yes, that is my only drawback to Puma. Doesn't seem to be large enough to change clothes in. With family of 4 + guests seems to be a deal breaker on the Puma. I hate it b/c they are so loved by owners, it seems. Now we are looking at Vengeance or Torque...this has been so hard trying to find a TH!

Welcome to the forum!!
First thing you might want to do is look at the specs on your TV to see how much it can handle, then go find the toy hauler that best suits your needs. Sounds like you've got a pretty good sized crew, so you'll be carrying a lot of extra stuff...

Yes sir, we have done the spec check . My husband is the "numbers police" so this limits which RV's are suitable. Using TH as bunkhouse situation...so trying to find best bang for buck with that situation. Love Torque but NO storage /cabinets in garage other than a shelf. Trying to decide if extra half bath is as important as I sort of think it could be...

Welcome to the Forums Cindymae! Have several active members here who own Toy Haulers and can certainly help you out!

I have a good friend who owns a Thunderbolt 415. He has 3 kids a dog, wife, and usually several kiddie / pet tag alongs. Seems they are never wanting for space in their madhouse The camp next to us when our group goes RVing and I am always impressed by how much inside space they have (compared to our 2 person 5er )

It took me a while before I could find one as well. It's usually just the 2 of us camping so, it's not a problem for us. Southaven RV in Miss. had several Vengence TH in stock when I was looking. Southaven RV | Mississippi RV Dealer | MS RV Sales
