Hi from Texas

Just joined this forum, but my wife and I are on our second camper. We tent camped most my life and when I was 63 (5 years ago) we decided the ground was getting harder than it used to be. Our first was an 18' Jayco Jay Feather hybrid that I pulled with a Ford Ranger. I eventually upgraded trucks to a F150 Eco-Boost 4X4 with max tow package. After 19 trips in the Jayco we upgraded to a Coachmen Freedom Express with three slides. A few more trips and we will pass up the Jayco on trip numbers. I have recently decided I can do just as good, if not better, on a lot of repairs than the repair shop so I will probably have some questions as I do more and more of my own work. I figured when the estimate to replace screen clips and put the screen back up was pushing $100 it was time for me to start using a lot of YouTube videos. Looking forward to continued learning from those of you who have "been there before!" BTW, the name Banjocamper refers to my love for Bluegrass music and my banjo that goes on every camping trip! If you hear some banjo picking that sounds really bad (as in terrible), it might be me!!

Welcome from across the way a bit (just north of Houston). Sounds like you got a good handle on things. Good to have you aboard, and hope to see you down the road!

Hi Banjo, yes the cost of RV repairs can be very high, and so much of the basic repairs are easy and can be done yourself! YouTube is a great resource for nearly anything anymore! I use it all the time when I need to do something I haven't before.
