Hi from the foothills of the Sierra

Good afternoon. My little one and I are starting on our journey of transitioning from house to mobile. I found a 2018 Salem Hemisphere Hyper-Lyte 26RBHL Travel Trailer that is in basically decent shape, however I’ve since found a few things to fix on it before we move things into it.
Some are bigger than others.
The worst was a bad spot in the roof. It’s squishy so I know water go into it. Im looking at roof repair options.
I’m currently replacing all the seals around the slide out and installing slide skis to reduce pressure on the edges when it goes in and out, plus sealing the edges of the lower sides of the slide. I’ve also found a torn spot on the top of the slide I will be fixing next week. The whole thing is covered with a huge tarp right now to protect it from our recent rains.
I’m installing insulation anywhere I can because that thing gets HOT in the summer and I’m sure it will be cold in the winter without help.

Do a "roof repair" in the search box near the top on the right. You will find lots of threads on this process. A google search will also yield a plethora of results.

Welcome to the forum. Do you plan to set up permanently in one place or move around a bit?

We actually plan to full time for probably two years in one place while I get the courts to let me move her to another state, then I’m looking at other options. That may be either moving this rig to another location for us to use or finding another stick and brick to live in for a time. A third option if I can afford it would be to travel with her and homeschool her. Let her learn about this country and the wonderful history that she wouldn’t have a chance to see otherwise.
