Hi Y'all from a Camp Cook

Hi y'all,

That's right, I said, "y'all." It comes from growing up in places like Camp Lejuene and Quantico.

We have been tent campers and purchased a used Surveyor 230 the end of summer. We have gone camping with the trailer and dogs four times this fall with an elk hunt coming up over Thanksgiving. This will be the first time that I will prepare Thanksgiving dinner without an oven. I am looking forward to the adventure.

The cooking forum has already been helpful, as has the technical forum. I am looking forward to learning more about trailer camping and getting to know y'all.

Hi Jo-Mae; Welcome and what a great introduction. As a canuck I always find myself smiling when I hear that "y'all". For us it means warm and friendly. Reminds me of this all-you-can-eat chicken place with a pig motif we stumbled on somewhere off the 95in Georgia. First taste of hushpuppies and first sweet tea in a mason jar. Perfect meal and perfect day. Never found the place again. But that waitress's really sincere "oh, y'all have to order the all-ya-can-eat hunny" and the sweetest "y'all come back now".... unforgettable.

Well, Hello y'all, and welcome to FRF.

Camp cook here too. Turkey day without an oven is great. We bought a big easy last year and it's just like frying it without the oil or mess. A couple of dutch ovens will tae care of the side dishes. Best of luck with the hunting too.
