hydraulics not working

We have a sandpiper 378 fb. We went to let the slides out to get it ready for a trip and nothing happens. The front jacks wont work either. Everything else is ok. we have only had it 4 months and the service advisor tried to help on the phone to check the fuses. didn't see a problem so then he said we could bring it in (2 hours away) but how do we hook it up if jacks don't work. Then he said to call a mobil tech who would charge us up to 200 out of our pocket. Can we make them pay that, he said they would pay for parts. Really upset about all this.

I'm not familiar with your model of RV, but, if your slides and front jacks are hydraulic; can you hear the hydraulic pump running when you activate the slides? If not, you have a problem with the electrical supply to your hydraulic pump. Check all the connections, corrosion can occur at any junction and interrupt the power. Sometimes just pulling apart the connecters and reattaching them can restore a connection. And as the dealer said, check the fuses. Good Luck, God Bless.

This sounds like either a dead battery or fuses ( resettable or blade). Follow the red wire from the hydraulic pump to the battery to find any fuses not in the fuse block.

My findings on warranty and mobile techs is if it is a warrantable item, you can usually get reimbursed if it is pre-approved. If it's just a fuse with no obvious problem causing the fuse to blow, then you get to pay for it as they say it is maintenance.

Ensure the mobile tech is certified for warranty work and they should be able to get authorization or at least advise you before work is done. You might have to pay for service call regardless.

Good luck!
