Intro and looking to get a new Sabre

Hi,

I am not new to Rv'ing, currently on our second 5th wheel trailer. My DW and I are looking to upgrade this year to a bunkhouse model to grow with our expanding family. Thought I would join this forum to get some advice and discuss with Forest River owners on how their purchases went and gather some of your gained knowledge.

As we stand today, we have short listed our search to Sabre 36QBOK, or a Blue Ridge (Forgot Model #), and an Open Range 399BHS.

Thanks!

The Sabre 36QBOK is the best because it's what I have.

Actually- look at the showers. The Sabre's is huge! As well, for us- a u-shaped dinette was a requirement, I couldn't find that on many other manufacturers in bunkhouse models. Same with the outside kitchen- the Sabre was just the perfect storm for what we wanted.

Anyway- didn't mean to try and sway ya!

:welcome:

No matter what sabre you buy you'll love it!
We have the 32bhok-6 and love it for function.
We only have 2 children.... teenagers left at home so we decided on the bunk house .
If there's any questions you have let us know!
You really want a sabre!

Sabre model is a great value for the price...you won't be disappointed!
Get the large walk in shower model and you'll never go back to the smaller showers!

Yes true the corner shower is great!

The outside kitchen we could never do without now that we have it!

And if there's ever a problem or issue we are very fortunate to have a factory rep SABRESAM on this forum whom answers questions and helps all of us owners when in need!
SABRESAM being a great presence on this forum will lead me to buy future sabres!

That's only 1/2 of it!

And yes- I only wish all brands were fortunate enough to have their own SabreSam! He's super duper!

Not to knock on the Sabre fans but you should also check out the Prime Time Crusaders (another Forest River brand) Like the Sabres there is alot of value for the dollar. They have 4 different bunkhouse models.

Prime Time Manufacturing, Manufacturers of travel trailers and fifth wheels

While we don't have SabreSam we do have RVGuy LOL

I'm partial to the Sierra 365saq myself. While the U-shape dinettes offer more seating room, the tables are usually smaller. Depending on the number and ages of children you have, you might give this one a look. We camp with 1-5, or more, kids, and the bunkhouse has lots of storage and floor space. My kids would rather sit on the floor or lower bunks and play, than sit a table. I believe you can get the 365saq in a double u-shaped dinette if that is something you really want. Best of luck in search and whatever you choose.

We looked at the Prime Times and really considered them. I really liked the barstools idea. Our only concern is that we felt like the awnings were really far forward. I had a hard time envisioning where a picnic table would go without blocking a door or storage hatch. Maybe I'm wrong and in practice it wasn't a real issue. Just something we thunk about.

We're definitely spoiled! I get jealous of people with their small rigs and the maneuverability that goes with them. But then- we really like our inside spaciousness! I want the magical RV- little on the outside, palatial on the inside.

I really don't have anything bad to say about the 365SAQ- they were on our short list! I'm glad that they're now putting extra supports on the lower bunk in the bunkhouse- that was one of our big issues at the time.

I totally agree - we have this one too and the big quality shower was one of the top selling points for our new Crusader 325RES.

Sabre was on the short list for us, so I don't think you can go wrong.

No outside kitchen. They only seem to come on bunkhouses in the bigger units.

To be honest...If I cook outside it's in the smoker, BBG grill or I am looking to start dutch oven cooking.
