Just bought our first family trailer. A 2015 Cherokee Grey Wolf 26 DBH. So excited. Plan to mostly use this to travel and camp at waterski tournaments with my family.

Anything a newby should know in regards to a trailer like this?

Hello and welcome from NC. Congrats on the new Cherokee. If you haven't already picked it up, do a very thorough pdi. Do not hand any money over until the pdi has been completed and any repairs have been made to your satisfaction. If you don't have one already, get a good wdh with integrated sway control (ie Reese dual cam or equal-i-zer). Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Ordered the 10,000 lbs Equalizer Hitch already. Will ask lots of questions. I purchased the DURATAIN treatments and a 7 year protection plan for the trailer bumper to bumper. Hate to ask....... but what have others paid for a 26 foot trailer like this?

Your best bet here is to look at rvtrader.com to see what prices look like across the country.

I skipped those when I purchased my old tt and my current fiver. I did buy the second year factory warranty from forest river for $150.

hardly anyone gets took in, on the coatings and most just get the 2nd year factory warranty, for $150.
hate to say it but you should've researched both before paying for it. lots of RV forums out there to help you know what to avoid from the stealerships.

you should probably should cancel the coatings. in 10 years of being on various RV forums, i have NEVER read any post stating that they were glad they bought such a thing.

i bet the dealer didn't even tell you about the 2nd year factory warranty option.

you did say: "Hate to ask....... but what have others paid for a 26 foot trailer like this?"

don't ask about price because you probably paid way more than those in the Midwest or East Coast.
West Coast prices are way more than other regions of the country.

you might want to post whose 3rd party warranty you bought and how much it was, so that those who know about them, could advise you.

be sure to read the fine print on this warranty.
many times the most common RV problems, are not covered. like roof leaks, delamination, plumbing leaks.

Good morning and welcome to the forums from SW Idaho.

A lack of information on your part does not make what you have done thus far wrong it just means you did what you thought was the right thing to do at the time to protect your investment, nothing wrong with that.

Enjoy your Wolf and have fun later this year.
