Jumping In

Greeting from Calgary, Canada (where the temp is dropping to -30C tonight)

Officially I'm new to the Forum but have to say that I've been searching it relentlessly for the last month or so picking up all sorts of great information. On the weekend we placed an order for a brand new Flagstaff 26FKBS which is scheduled to arrive in 2-3 months just as the camping season is kicking off here (it should be much warmer by then )

We're not new to RVing as we're trading in our Tracer Air for the Flagstaff and I've recently retired so we're looking forward to a lot more adventures. Still a ton of campgrounds we want to check out here in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and (eventually) we'll venture across the border and visit our neighbors to the south. Will share pics of the unit when it arrives but wife is super excited (she loves the front kitchen in this TT) to have more room for those extended adventures.

Looking forward to hitting the road soon.

Thanks....we lived in Texas (Austin and Sugarland) for a number of years and will say that right now we're REALLY missing the weather. Might be a different story come July

I hear there are some mighty fine places to visit in the Pacific Northwest and hope we'll get a chance once they open the border.

closed border - We still have reservations from last year at Nootka Sound on the Island. We are really hoping that the border will open. Feel free to ask questions about our area - we live next to the San Juan Islands.

You mean Winter-Peg

Very familiar with the weather your way since I grew up in the Whiteshell and graduated (a long time ago) from U of M (Go Bisons)

Stay warm!

Welcome, we have a 2020 26FKBS and will soon be starting our 2nd season using it. The floor plan is great and my wife also enjoys the front kitchen. We also appreciate the bed slide, sooo much room. You guys need to stop this polar vortex that is sweeping down from up North to much sub zero down here.
Enjoy your new rig and hopefully soon we can cross each other borders. I missed my Ontario fishing trip last June and not looking too good for this June. Stay warm and safe and congratulations on your retirement.

The good news is that there is definitely no more polar vortex and we just survived the heat dome and temperatures of +36C (97F) without any air conditioning (don't normally need A/C in Calgary). Even though it took a long time (from polar vortex to heat dome) I'm happy to say that we picked up our brand new 26FKBS today from the dealer. Spent 2-3 hours doing the PDI and also happy to say that all of the things found were minor. Very happy with what we've seen so far and our shakedown trip is scheduled for two weeks from now. Still have a few items to add before the initial trip but credit card took enough of a hit today

Attaching a pic of our new home away from home
