Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
I’ve moved up from tent camping to a 2022 Forester Classic. I plan to RV
full-time but for now staying in it part-time. I’m having some problems that I’m trying to work out. Have been fortunate to find a mobile mechanic who can do some of the work.
However, my latest problem is with my Sansui TV. This happened last night and when I called customer service this morning, the recording says they are closed until Tuesday. I turned the TV on with the remote and I cannot do anything else with it, including turning it off. It’s not the remote batteries; I put new ones in and still didn’t work. I cannot even turn tv off from the power switch on the tv.
Has anyone experienced this?

They're all digital now. Unplug the TV's power cord for several seconds and then replug it in, so it reboots.

That’s the problem. It’s not plugged into an outlet but has some wires running through the wall behind it that I cannot get to.

12volt or 120 volt

It's either a 12-volt TV or a 120-volt TV. If you can tell (label on TV or in the manual), do the appropriate one of these procedures:

12-volt
Remove the appropriate fuse for the TV. If you can't tell which fuse it is, remove and replace each one, waiting a few seconds before replacing.
120-volt
Unplug the trailer from shore power or turn the main circuit breaker off, wait, and turn back on.

If you can't figure out which of the above procedures to do, do both.

Thank you so much. I will try that.

Hey, we may have been neighbors at some point. I lived in Chapel Hill for 10 years.

Let us know if Larry-NC's advice works to reset that tv. The fact that you can't turn off the tv by pressing the power button indicates that it needs a reset.

Welcome to the forum!

If you flip the main breakers in the ac panel then go outside and turn the disconnect off. Count to ten and turn both back on should reset everything.

Not if it's a 12-volt TV.

I am not familiar with this rv. Most 12 volt items run thru the fuse panel. Thus disconnecting the battery should reset.

If hillbilly wired around the disconnect most TV’s become parasitic loads.

Removing fuses one at a time works but one should use a fuse puller and be very careful.

The OP just sent me the following private message:

We actually were able to finally reach a cable behind the tv, disconnect & reconnect. That reset it. Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks again!
