Living The Dream

Yo, my southern brothers, my time has come; after 35 years as an Army Officer (20 moves, 12 years out of country, long family separations, countless days of fatigue, cold, wet and dirt), it is time for Ruthie (my sweetie for life) and I to start living our dream. You all keep your beer cold, rum stocks full, Toby and the boys on your radios, and barbecues smoking - and we just might meet on our journeys south.

We base out of Moncton, NB CANADA, heels together now; our new 2011 Black Stallion (GMC Sierra 2500 HD, Crew Cab, 6.6L DURAMAX, Allison Trans) is towing a 2011 Cedar Creek Silverback 29RL. Our first foray into the RVing lifestyle, lots of reading, driver training instruction now taking place, we have joined a local RVing Club and have a couple of short journey rallies planned for the summer and fall periods. No need to make room on the roads down there yet, our friendly invasion to your hospitable and Great country (all seriousness and respect here) will take place in January 2013. Hope to learn a lot from the forums and look forward to new friends and camaraderie along the way!

Respectfully,

Ron Allison
LtCol (Retired)
The Royal Canadian Regiment 1975 to 2010

Wow 35 years! I tell every service person here thanks for their service. I'm sure your country appreciates the years you have put in and you do deserve a hearty handshake and a salute! Enjoy your retirement and your travels. If you hit the state of Arkansas look us up! I did a few years in the Navy and have a brother that did 30 years and retired last year.Again congratulations and good luck in your travels. I wish you a long healthy lifetime!!!

Thank you for your service, Colonel! And thank you to your family, for their sacrifices that allowed you to serve! (So many from the USA don't understand that Canadian soldiers are the first and foremost standing shoulder to shoulder with our troops!)

Best of fortune and enjoyment on your second life, and if our paths cross, the first beer is on me!
