Looking for Roof advice!

Hey folks. Now to the site and recently bought first pop up! Itís in good shape other than paint peeling on the roof. I know itís had a roof replacement so Iím thinking it may not have bonded properly, but Iím looking for advice on how to remedy this! Iím not entirely sure if itís an aluminum or rubber roof, but Iím willing looking to do this project myself! Pictures attached! Thank yíall for your help! Hopefully weíll all be outdoors again soon

rubber roofs are typically on travel trailers... yours could be aluminum or even fiberglass... what year and make is it?

Pictures show that paint is peeling... those roof tops on popups can have a tough life. If you can determine if it is a metal roof then sand and re-paint and call it good. If there are any things that go thru the roof like an air conditioner, then look into using Eternabond tape to seal any gaps. Eternabond will last 10+ years where caulk will fail within a few years.

Sorry, I donít know how I forgot to include that info!! Itís a 2013 Flagstaff MAC 223! I believe they come with the aluminum roof as standard, but the roof replacement on the VIN check is what had me second guessing.. hereís a photo also!

good looking unit... gotta love that front storage area

google date codes for tires... it those tires are as old as the trailer, and I bet they are, first thing I would do is get new ones, even if tread is good... trailer tires never wear out, they dry-rot out... you can pick them up online at etrailer dot com or at Tractor Supply even Walmart often.

Check the wheel bearing grease and either redo them or have it done at a tire joint or garage, never at an RV dealer. There are many youtube videos out there about doing your own.

Your roof may just have cosmetic damage. The canvas and inside is OK? Often canvas gets wet, mildewed, dry-rotted and is the biggest problem with popups.

Awesome, thanks ! Planning on greasing the bearings next week so I’ll add new tires to the list..

& yep, everything inside is clean and canvas is like new! Sounds like I don’t have too much to worry about then? Just scrape off the old paint and lay down some grizzly?

Also, thank y’all for the welcome!

Happy Trails!

Lol, came in looking for a tube of caulk and you sold him a new set of tires and wheel bearing service.

You sir, Mr rsdata just won the coveted Salesman of the Year Award.

rsdata was only helping DeanoK with some info he may not be aware of. With a used rv of any type it is best to do what rsdata suggested because prior maintenance is unknown.

Using your own words, You sir, are not very helpful at all. Nor funny for that matter.

It is not uncommon on the forum for a topic about one thing to blossom into many things that differ from the original thought.
