Maiden Voyage

Hey everyone,

Finally picked up our 2010 Rockwood 8317ss tt.
Excited for the maiden voyage (not including the 2 nights in the driveway with the kids ). Going about 60 miles away.
Took the tt out for a test tow down the interstate, and the tv did ok, 10.5 mpg. (6600# dry).
Had a nice cross wind too.
My neighbor said I should crack some windows on the tt if there's a crosswind to help with the swaying. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks for the feedback!

I kind of doubt you notice much difference if you open a window but do you have a anti sway bar? That will help the sway more than anything . Good luck and have fun and remember do not get in a hurry while pulling that TT ,it is a very big camper

I've heard that mentioned a time or two but I'm like chevy02, I can't see it making much difference. There's still a lot of sidewall area to push on. The correct hitch, set up correctly is your best bet. Make sure your tongue weight is over 10% all the time.

I don't know what you're using for a hitch, but the Equa-l-izer is a great investment. We have towed are TT in some really bad cross winds and it really does a good job.

The dealer recommended the Equa-l-izer hitch with the anti-sway, so that's what were using. It seems to work great but wasn't sure about the window thing.
