new basecamp

lots of great info on the forum.

just picked up a '22 f.r. aurora 34 bhts for my farm basecamp. not much hands on experience around this model around the innerwebz. I ended up with this one due to the full bedroom closet, washer / dryer connection, and outdoor kitchen.

The Aurora line is brand new and there aren't many here that own one.

ah, okay. that makes sense. there are only 1 or 2 other models with this similar floorplan, except the bedroom is a king. Viking maybe... anyway, love this unit.

We did ok. No broken pipes, we have a gas fireplace with a heating element, and a portable generator that kept the fridge going. Plus we were only out of electric for a couple of days so we were lucky. Don't want to go through that again though. Purchased a dual fuel generator as a backup.

That's an excellent layout and a nice looking TT! Is there a tv in the kitchen/dining area?

Welcome, BTW.

okay, been reading up and on everything rv... i have a 50a hookup at the pole, that you can see behind the tt. i've read about the a/c's being clunky on startup. i fired both units up and they do nothing but start up quietly and seem to cool just fine.. is the clunk-y noises for older units, or units that were run on 30a? i do plan to get a pair of soft starts for each unit.

i have a set of roof vent covers that will be installed this wknd, but not sure what to use over the skylight above the shower. i'll get a pic of it this wknd, but doesn't seem to be a typical skylight. maybe it is, as i'm def a noob here..

have a dehumidifier, and two humidity monitors, one for each end of the tt. tire cradles and tire covers delivered, and will be put on this wknd as well.

what else am i missing...

If it's not clunking on startup, you probably don't need a soft start. Those are used mainly by people who are using a generator and there's not enough surge capacity in the generator to start the ac.

If you're in Round Rock, I'd suggest a shed to put it under to protect the roof. That sun is going to do more damage than anything.
