New Berkshire XLT owner

Hello, fellow RVers! We just traded in our Itasca Sunstar for a 2017 Berkshire XLT. We are loving the new RV! Really glad this forum exists. Hope to use and contribute to it.

Here is our travel blog:
https://habsontheroad.com

One of the newer posts covers our trip to Elkhart to pick up the RV, where it got down to -14F! Was a fun trip, despite the 700 miles of driving in snow and ice!

We traveled 12,000 miles in our Itasca last year alone and are planning to sell our house in the Spring to full time it for a year. Can't get enough of RVing! Our kids love traveling (and roadschooling) and I work from home, so we travel as much as we can.

Look forward to meeting others here!

Vernon

HabsOnTheRoad:

congrats, we were in your same position Aug'14 when we traded our Georgetown ClassA gas for our Palazzo 33.3 Bunkhouse diesel pusher... what a difference!

and, we were in WakarusaIN at the THOR MOTOR COACH Factory Service Center this past February during the winter storm that hit that area too - we know exactly how you feel! Fun : )

our two boys have experienced the last 2 1/2 years what your boys are doing right now - home schooled by mom(a teacher) while dad works on the road... 50,000 miles later
: )

come see us in Shootin Creek NC while we 'park' for a while...

Wow, that is so neat! Man, 50k miles! Would love to hear what destinations your kids enjoyed the most. We've covered a lot of territory, but so many places we still missed in the ~25 states we've visited. Especially interested in northeastern states, which we plan to visit this year after we sell the sticks and bricks. We tend to favor the coastline and mountainous areas the most. One of our favorite experiences was kayaking amongst sea otters and sea lions just north of Monterey CA. So awesome!
