New Camper Owner, New Forum Member...
Hi everyone, my name is Tim. I'm from upstate NY. We purchased a new 2018 Forest River Wildwood FSX (Xlite I think) 197BH last year. We took it out a couple of times, but have many things to learn.
We're first time camper owners so there's a lot more I don't know than I do know... I joined this forum to seek and share information about my camper and camping experiences and hopefully make a few new friends along the way, and maybe meet up with some fellow campers some time.
We plan to go camping mostly in the northern New York region, and probably venture out some throughout the state and down the road maybe even further away...
I hope this forum becomes a valuable resource. I expect to ask many questions and seek a lot of information that can improve my camper experience.
Thanks, and talk to you all soon...

Welcome from Maryland - we often venture into the finger lake region up there in New York. Some very pretty country. It is a STEEEEEEEPPPPP learning curve. When we picked up our first camper, I had a bad case of not knowing what we didn't know LOL - so as a result we had absolutely no questions for the dealer. We then had alot of trial and error for the next several years as we figured all the stuff out - but we had a lot of fun. Still having alot of fun as we venture into parts unknown.......

Welcome to the group and congratulations on the new camper from Wild, Wonderful West Virginia! Hope you have a blast with it. We started camping years ago and like you mostly camped around our state. But the bug seems to bite and the next thing we knew, bigger campers end up following us home and we venture further and further from home! So good luck and great camping! A lot of knowledge on here that you can tap into also, so just ask away.

Thanks for the inspiration . I'm sure we'll have a lot of "fun" also.
I started out a couple of years back, tent camping with my 2WD pickup with a hard tonneau cover and a small utility trailer and a small generator - I already had most of the gear except for the tent I purchased that year - worked pretty well for that year - we had fun.
So in off-season, I decided I liked camping and I purchased a 6x10 enclosed trailer and a nice canvas Kodiak tent for the 2017 season (didn't really want a camper for just the local camping we were doing) I set up the enclosed trailer real nice - I cut a cord hatch in it and was able to set up a fridge, some cooking stuff and store my stuff out of the elements, etc. Plus, it made it real nice for packing up, leaving, and having it ready packed for next trip.
However, my significant other, being who she is, decided she wanted to buy a camper... right after my first camping trip with my new enclosed trailer/Kodiak tent setup (which I liked just fine). So anyway, without going into the next whole story - I ended up owning the camper after camping season.
So anyway, I was towing my enclosed trailer, and then the camper to the campsite with a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, which had a couple of issues but did ok to go to our main camping site 14 miles away... So, knowing I now had a camper and wasn't going far with the 05 TBZ, I purchased the 2017 Ram 1500 just a month or so ago - one of the main reasons was to pull the camper.
So I went from an 02 F150 tent camping in 2016 to a 2018 Wildwood and a 2017 Ram for the 2018 season - I hope I'm done for a while - and I don't have any money left (I mean the bank won't give me any more)

Welcome from central Ohio. Enjoy the new camper.
Spent a few years in the Saratoga area. Miss the view but don’t miss being able to walk off my roof and down the snow piled up next to the house [emoji23]. And yes I did that one winter after cleaning the snow off the roof (that section was one and half stories tall).
Again, welcome - lots of info and good people here to share what they have been through etc.
